I'm rather new to the Mac Community. That said, I was a little concerned about older reviews on this scanner. Have no doubts, IT WORKS. br /br /I had a little trouble with the main software after installation. It worked initially, then I double clicked some icons in the working folder and it stopped working - totally my fault. I called Fujitsu support and dreaded the upcoming, painful conversation I was sure to have with a polite, however impossible to understand, citizen of India. I was SOOOOOO pleasantly surprised to get in contact with an actual citizen of the US...with a little bit of a New York accent, no less! He had a little trouble with the Apple OS, so he said he would pull in an Apple expert. My heart sunk, and the dread crescendo'd once again... then I heard the voice of another US citizen, and he was in fact an actual Mac expert. They helped me uninstall (yes, I'm a Mac noob, and it is actually much more difficult than Windows) and reinstall. Super-kudos to Fujitsu for hiring true experts that actually live in the country that they support!!!!!br /br /The ScanSnap has been working for 3 weeks, no problems. I turned on the OCR for all documents and it slows down the processing by a couple of seconds...well worth the wait, though. I highly recommend this option to be used. br /br /It makes life so much easier!! I cannot say enough about how quickly it works, and how intuitive it is. As far as I'm concerned, it did EXACTLY as I had hoped it would do. It has lived up to the hype, and we (wife and I) couldn't be happier. Buy it. Make your life easier.

I've had this for one month, and I'm really happy. It takes a few practice scans to get the hang of it, but totally great once you figure out how to load it, etc.br /br /Pros - super fast and easy to use. Very portable.br /br /Slight con - if you have several pages to scan (like more than 10), it can be a juggling act to make sure they all get fed through the scanner and end up in one document. br /br /Also, for the 'convert into searchable pdf' setting, BE SURE to check the box that says 'execute immediately.' The default setting is 'execute when the computer is idle' which is pretty dumb.br /br /I probably wouldn't recommend this scanner for photos. I haven't tried it yet, but it seems like they might get damaged.br /br /Overall, very happy. Especially compared to my old scanner that took FOREVER.
